STOP THREATENING US OBA ADEBOWALE ADESINA, DPO, WE WILL WAIT FOR COURTS DECISION - OLUWO OTUNBA FAMILY

 

In  a swift reaction to a Press Release titled," Alarming State of Unrest,Threat to Life and Property in Eredo Town of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State" Dated Tuesday January 30,2024; Signed by Olawale Olanipekun,Dare Sambakiyu and others; in which they alleged takeover of Eredo Community by hoodlums and Landgrabbers allegely sponsored by Oba  Adebowale Adeshina,the Omola of Odomola Kingdom; the Oluwo Otunba Royal Family of Eredo Community,who identified the family as the real owner of Eredo Community land,has condemned the the release; declaring it as a blatant lies of highest order.

The leaders of the family condemned the statement ,as they said it was targeted at tarnishing the image of the members of the royal family,including the Omola of Odomola Kingdom,whose mother,Alhaja Tamoriat Adebowale,is the first daughter of Oluwo Royal Family.

                     Mr. Bashir Olaitan Oduntan Oluwo,

 Mr. Bashir Olaitan Oduntan Oluwo,wondered why their opponents chose to issue a press release on a case before a court of law,despite being aware of contempt of court.

" Our fore-father,is Jomuren,he was the first settler of Eredo Community. Oluwo and  Otunba are brothers,they Oyebote and Dogunlo. they are the 4th generation of Jomuren. They gave birth to our fathers and many generations before ours. The land in question belongs to us. We are prominent family in Eredo community,and we can never engage in land grabbing. Olanipekun Adewale and his people,are the ones who hired Sir K Oluwo from Ikorodu and Garba Owoye on our land" He said

These people who are laying claim to our land,are Auren to our Forefathers in the olden days,which means they slaves. But,due to civilization ,we stopped referring to them as slaves,and call them our customary tenants,because truthfully,our fathers in their own act of magnanimity gave them about 52 Acres of land for farming,when they lacked a place to stay. Till this generation,they continued to be loyal to us,even when they wanted to sell part of the land given to them and we heard about it. We stopped them from doing that, because the land was given to them for farming,and if they have decided to use it for something else,we must be informed. So,they had to write a letter to us,seeking a permission to sell some plots,due to civilization and we granted it. Here is the copy of their letter. After they sold the land,they still gave us some token,as a signal of respect to this family, as the rightful owner of the whole land. We called these people Itun Auren,or Idanigbo,and anytime they wanted to get a Baale,we installed one for them or gave the approval. However,they suddenly changed,challenging us on our land; and that was why we went to court. The case has been in court since 2016,while trial has commenced. We are law abiding and have confidence in the Judiciary,and that is why we have left the land for them because they have put Land grabbers on the land. Adewale Olanipekun,claiming Acting Baale,in the said,Press Release,lied,because their current Baale is Shafau Shanu,who honours this family so much" He added.

                            Mr. Muhydeen Odumosu, 

Another principal member of the family, Mr. Muhydeen Odumosu, said," They need to desist from this defamation of characters, Oba Adeshina Adebowale ,the Omola of Odomola,is our son,but he cannot do anything without the consent of this royal family. He has not done any of those negative things written against him,they only wanted to tarnish his image."

" Our family members own most of the houses on this axis of Eredo Expressway. The land on which Eredo LCDA Secretariat is situated,was the location of the first Customary Court in Epe Division in 1936. When they wanted to convert it to Agunwa- Ejinrin Local Government,by Jakande's administration in 1979,it was my father, Late Chief Jimoh Kolawole Odumosu,that advised the family to allow it for the development of Eredo. Oluwo Otunba gave them the land free of charge. Late Chief JKOT, was one of our fathers,through which Agbolade Filling Station,you can see over there and other popular structure on this axis were sold by this family.So,we cannot harrass anyone,those they claimed we are harassing,are those harassing and victimizing members of this family and others in the community." He stated.

Oba Adebowale Adeshina' s biological mother, Alhaja Tamoriat Oluwo Olaitan Adebowale,who is the first daughter of Oluwo Family,confirmed that the land in question belongs to her family,as he advised those spreading false information about Eredo Community land ,to desist from the act and immediately vacate  the said land;noting that Olanipekun and his cohorts have been selling the land which it case is still in court; and blackmailing the D.P.O of Noforija Police Station,who is only performing  his constitutional duty of ensuring law and order in the community.

The family said they are law abiding and peace loving,therefore,they will wait for the outcome of the Court case; and not take law into their own hands; despite the intimidation from their opponents.
