Singer, Dammy Krane’s shocking arrest in the United States for grand theft has been used as an example of what happens to people who want to live the ‘fake life’ at all cost by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The commission in an apt tweet advised Nigerians to embrace their economic reality in order to avoid being pushed to doing something that could jeopardize their futures like Dammy Krane appears to have done.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please do NOT mortgage your future in exchange for the transient thrill of ostentatious display. #EmbraceYourTruth”.
But a Twitter user felt that the tweet wasn’t explicit enough and went ahead to goad the anti-graft agency’s handler into tweeting the message in pidgin.
“Pls can you break it down to a layman in pidgin?” Twitter user, Geedeewain asked?
Nobody could have anticipated the EFCC’s responding in such fluent pidgin English that would have made the popular fictional character ‘Akpors’ proud.
“No dey live fake life unto say you wan flex for the gram. Notin concine bicycle wit petrol station. Respect your name. Maintain your level,” EFCC tweeted.
Dammy Krane was arrested for grand theft and identity fraud on Friday, June 2 in Dade County, Miami, Florida.
